🗓️ Day-by-Day Itinerary
1Senaru / Sembalun Basecamp -> Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m)
After breakfast at your hotel, we register at the Rinjani National Park office in Sembalun (1,156m). The trek begins through open savannah grasslands with views of Mount Rinjani rising ahead. We pass POS 1 (1,300m) and POS 2 (1,500m) where our porters prepare a freshly cooked hot lunch. In the afternoon, we tackle the steep 'Buckle Hill' (Bukit Penyesalan) up to Plawangan Sembalun Crater Rim. Enjoy a magnificent sunset over Segara Anak Lake before a delicious camp dinner.
2Summit Attack (3,726m) -> Sembalun Village -> Transfer to Next Destination
Wake up at 1:30 AM for hot tea and energy toast. At 2:00 AM, we start our summit ascent under starlight. The climb involves volcanic gravel and steep ridges. We reach the peak (3,726m) just as the golden sun rises above Mount Agung in Bali and Sumbawa across the ocean. After taking photos and celebrating, we descend back to our campsite for a full breakfast, then trek down to Sembalun village where private transport awaits to take you to your next Lombok destination.
Should to Bring
Essential items you should prepare for the trek. Heavy camping tents, sleeping bags, and meals are carried by our porters!
❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How difficult is the 2D1N Sembalun Summit trek?
This trek requires a good level of fitness because day 2 involves a demanding 5-hour midnight climb on loose volcanic gravel followed by a long descent down to Sembalun.
Can I store my extra luggage at your basecamp?
Yes, absolutely! All non-essential luggage can be securely stored at our Senaru office/hotel for free while you are on the mountain.
What if bad weather occurs during the summit climb?
Safety is our #1 priority. Our professional guides monitor weather conditions continuously. If high winds or storms make the summit unsafe, we adjust the schedule or wait for safe conditions.
